MEANDERING

Life with its undeniable 
twists and turns

Meandering in and out 
of things unlearned

stuff we need to see 
places we should be

even if we don’t know it 
like it or accept it

we are the voyeurs 
of our own best efforts

yet usually never 
what we really want to be

     following the twisting 

turning paths

set forth before us 

in our thirsting questing efforts

to make life a dream 
the way we feel it

would it could it be
if we only did let go

 the pushing pulling 
and restless stresses

 promising to take 
away the real

we truly seek need 
want and crave

but are we able to brave

the course where life 
and dreams merge 
and become as one

or will we meander on 
only knowing or seeing 
a fractured life that

 takes us farther and farther aft

of the true and real that we are
